About the Firm

What does Cliffton & Reddick actually do?

We help healthcare agency leaders identify and correct operational and clinical quality problems behind documentation issues, repeated findings, authorization problems, inefficient workflows, and compliance concerns.

What types of agencies do you work with?

Primarily North Carolina home health and in-home service providers, behavioral health agencies, substance use agencies, mental health and I/DD providers, Medicaid and managed-care providers, and community-based healthcare organizations.

Do you work with Medicare-certified home health agencies?

Medicare-certified home health is not our primary specialty. Our home health work focuses on North Carolina state-licensed, Medicaid, managed-care, and private-pay environments.

We don't position ourselves as specialists in OASIS, Conditions of Participation, PDGM, star ratings, or Medicare certification.

Are you a compliance consulting firm?

Compliance is part of our work, but it isn't the whole of our work. We look at the operation behind compliance.

A documentation problem may actually be a training problem. A repeated finding may be a supervision problem. A missed authorization may be a workflow problem.

Are you our outsourced compliance officer?

No. We provide advisory, review, training, assessment, and project-based support. We don't replace required agency leadership, clinical, compliance, legal, or administrative roles.

Do you provide legal advice?

No. Cliffton & Reddick is not a law firm and our services do not replace legal counsel.

Services and Scope

Can you help with a denied or reduced authorization?

Yes, depending on the situation. Support may include review of the denial, medical necessity documentation review, identification of documentation gaps, case preparation, and clinician preparation for peer-to-peer review.

We don't guarantee payer decisions.

Can you audit our charts?

Yes. Documentation reviews are scoped according to the service, concern, payer requirement, or question being evaluated. We don't apply one generic checklist to every service.

Can you review personnel files?

Yes. Personnel-file review may be included in an Operational Readiness Assessment, Focused Review, Readiness & Build engagement, or ongoing advisory arrangement.

Can you help after we've already received a deficiency or finding?

Yes. Deficiency Resolution is designed for agencies that have already received a finding, monitoring concern, or corrective-action request.

Can you help with a plan of correction?

Yes, within the scope of an engagement. Our focus is not simply producing a response document. The correction should be realistic enough to implement and monitor.

Do you help new agencies open?

Yes. Launch & Expansion can support licensing preparation, operational structure, policies, workflows, documentation systems, file structures, forms, trackers, and readiness planning.

Do you provide staff training?

Yes. Training can be developed around the actual problems affecting your organization rather than using generic education.

Working Together

What's the difference between the Free Readiness Check and the Operational Readiness Assessment?

The Free Readiness Check is a self-assessment. The Operational Readiness Assessment is a paid engagement in which we independently review a defined portion of your operation and provide findings, priorities, and recommendations.

Do I have to start with a full assessment?

No. If you have one clearly defined concern, a Focused Review or another limited engagement may be the better starting point.

How much do engagements cost?

Engagements start at $1,250. Operational Readiness Assessments start at $4,500. Executive Advisory starts at $1,750 a month. Final pricing depends on scope and complexity.

Will you come in and run our agency?

No. We're advisors, not replacement management. We can assess, recommend, build tools, develop systems, train staff, and support implementation. Agency leadership remains responsible for operating the organization.

What if you find something outside your expertise?

We'll tell you. When an issue requires a Medicare home health specialist, accreditation expert, attorney, accountant, or billing specialist, we'll recommend involving the appropriate resource.

What happens after I contact you?

We first schedule a Clarity Consultation™ to determine what is happening, what you need, and whether Cliffton & Reddick is the right fit.

You'll understand the proposed scope and fee before deciding whether to move forward.

When something falls outside our scope, we will tell you. Knowing when to refer is part of good advisory work.
